All Endings and the Secret Epilogue — 7 Tracked Outcomes, One Save, One Month

Every ending in The Blood of Dawnwalker: four main routes against Brencis (Turncoat, Folk Hero, Patricide, Knyazmaker), two secret endings (A Hero They Deserve, Together Forever), one bad ending (Time Runs Out), plus the prologue Brencis skip. Save/reload strategy to see them all from one campaign.

The Blood of Dawnwalker tracks seven endings in the achievement list, but the structure is more forgiving than the count suggests. Four endings are the main late-game routes (you decide how to confront Brencis), two are early secret routes (you can leave Vale Sangora, or get trapped with your family), and one is the calendar-fail state. With careful manual saves, you can see every major ending from a single campaign — you do not need seven full playthroughs.

The 30-day clock does not end the game when it runs out. Time is a currency that only moves when you spend it on quests, skills, and dialogue choices. The story continues past day 30 and all side content remains available, so the “Time Runs Out” outcome requires the player to actively let the deadline pass.

How to see all major endings in one playthrough

The endings are layered. The two “secret” endings (A Hero They Deserve and Together Forever) are triggered before you commit to a finale, and the four main endings (Turncoat, Folk Hero, Patricide, Knyazmaker) are all reachable from one save because the game returns to the title screen after each one rather than rolling credits on a free-roam save.

Recommended sequence:

  1. Prologue: prepare Esme’s medicine correctly (hot water plus three spoonfuls of herbs, per KeenGamer’s companion guide). Wrong medicine locks you out of a clean epilogue.
  2. Proceed through the Court and defeat the three vampire officers in any order: Ambrus, then Bakir, then Xanthe. This raises Coen’s Infamy to maximum.
  3. Complete Lacra’s questline through the point where Midnight Reckoning becomes available. This unlocks The Patricide.
  4. Complete Crake’s questline through Who Pulls the Strings so that Rise at Dawn becomes available. This unlocks The Knyazmaker.
  5. Advance to the next day to receive Brencis’s message. When “A Deal with the Devil” appears, create a permanent manual save. This is the branch point.
  6. Make a second manual save after finishing the Lacra and Crake prerequisites.
  7. Reload these saves after each ending rather than restarting the entire campaign.

The trophy list (see guides/100-percent-completion-checklist/) also requires triggering A Hero They Deserve and Together Forever from separate saves before continuing with your preferred final ending. They are reachable from the post-prologue sandbox, so the order is: secrets first, then the main four.

The Turncoat — accept Brencis’s deal

How to get: Defeat the three vampire officers (Ambrus → Bakir → Xanthe), advance one day, begin “A Deal with the Devil”, and accept Brencis’s offer at the first major conversation.

What happens: Coen chooses his family over Vale Sangora. Brencis takes his siblings in exchange for letting Coen live. The ending avoids the full Brencis boss assault, which is also why KeenGamer flags it as “one of the easiest endings for completing Duelist difficulty.”

The Folk Hero — fight Brencis alone

How to get: Complete the three-vassal progression (Ambrus, Bakir, Xanthe), reach maximum Infamy, advance to the next day, begin “A Deal with the Devil”, and at the first major conversation with Brencis say “Enough. Time to end this.” Do not commit to Lacra’s Midnight Reckoning or Crake’s Rise at Dawn. Continue toward Griefberg Castle and defeat Brencis without an ending ally.

Alternate early castle route (advanced players): You can assault Griefberg Castle much earlier in the campaign. At night, Shadowstep over the castle walls, or gain access through the side entrance with Father Florin’s assistance or the Side Gate Key dropped by Georghe “The Rabid Duke.” This forces the Brencis confrontation without completing the three-vassal progression, and it is significantly harder at low level.

What happens: Coen personally defeats Brencis and frees Vale Sangora. After defeating him in Anachora, you can make an additional choice regarding Brencis’s ultimate fate, but the Folk Hero outcome itself is determined by defeating him without an ending ally.

The Patricide — Lacra route

How to get: Complete Lacra’s questline through the Midnight Reckoning point, then trigger the finale from the Patricide branch instead of the normal “A Deal with the Devil” route. Side with Lacra in the final assault on Brencis.

Lacra’s full questline (in order): The Firebrand → Under Watchful Eyes → Taking Back What’s Mine → Shadows in the Woods → A Pilgrimage for Power: Bear Trouble → From Above (sync the watchtower south of the starting village) → [region-specific content] → Midnight Reckoning.

What happens: Lacra joins Coen in the final assault on Brencis. The Patricide ending is the more personal of the two ally-based routes — Lacra’s storyline is about her own family, and the resolution ties directly into the antagonist’s past.

Source: KeenGamer (2026-09-06).

The Knyazmaker — Crake route

How to get: Complete Crake’s questline through Who Pulls the Strings, then trigger “Rise at Dawn” with Crake. This is the longest ally-based ending because it involves completing much of the Manumit storyline before beginning the finale.

Crake’s full questline (in order): The Firebrand → Shadows in the Woods → Where Loyalty Lies → What Hunts the Night → What Moves the Dead → Who Pulls the Strings → (optional) Distant Shadows → (optional) A Closer Look → Rise at Dawn → Fall Before Dusk. The two optional quests (Distant Shadows, A Closer Look) are required for the “Curiouser and Curiouser” trophy per PowerPyx, so do not skip them on your trophy run.

After Who Pulls the Strings: Speak with Crake when Rise at Dawn becomes available. Start Rise at Dawn with Crake, attack the Eastridge Outpost to let Catalin Dragosti’s army into Vale Sangora, then continue into Fall Before Dusk.

What happens: Crake and the Manumits join Coen. Catalin Dragosti returns to power. This is the largest-scale ally ending, both in narrative scope and in time investment.

A Hero They Deserve — leave Vale Sangora

How to get: At the end of the campaign, travel to the broken bridge at the northwest corner of the Briar Sloughs (west of the Coward’s Path Shrine, near the broken bridge leading toward the edge of the valley). You need strong enough nighttime traversal — PC Gamer specifically reports requiring Corruption Level 11 and the second Shadow Dweller upgrade to extend Shadowstep’s usable distance. Cross the canyon using vampiric traversal, follow the road toward the open mountain pass, continue until the game warns you about leaving, and choose “Leave the valley forever.”

What happens: Coen abandons his family, Brencis, and Vale Sangora entirely. There is no normal Laslea epilogue for this ending, although the post-credits sequence still plays. The trophy is “A Hero They Deserve.”

Together Forever — get trapped with your family

How to get: During the prologue quest Home Sweet Home, choose dialogue options that keep Coen with his family rather than pressing on with the rescue plan. This is a short, scripted route — you do not need to finish the Court progression or defeat any of the three officers. The trigger window is small: you must be in the Home Sweet Home quest and select the path that locks the door behind you.

What happens: Coen stays with his family and accepts a slow, isolated end. The trophy is “Together Forever.”

Time Runs Out — bad ending

How to get: Let more than 30 in-game days pass without rescuing Coen’s family. The calendar does not kill you outright — the game continues — but the story state considers the family lost and you receive a dedicated epilogue where Coen has failed in his primary mission.

Notes:

  • The 30-day limit is a “currency” rather than a real-time clock. Walking, looking, and talking do not advance time. Plot-relevant actions and many quests consume time segments.
  • The director of the game has confirmed in interviews that “the game doesn’t end when you run out of time” — but the dedicated bad ending is still awarded if you let the calendar pass without acting on the main rescue.
  • There is no trophy associated with Time Runs Out (per KeenGamer’s table).

Bonus outcome — defeat Brencis in the prologue

How to get: During the supposedly unwinnable Brencis fight at the end of the prologue quest Bad Blood, defeat him instead of allowing Coen to lose. This triggers an immediate two-phase boss fight: Brencis, Knyaz of Vale Sangora, followed by Brencis, Grotesque Ascendant.

What happens: Winning does not create a separate eighth tracked ending. It gives you an extremely early version of the Folk Hero-style outcome with a much shorter epilogue, because almost none of Vale Sangora’s quests have been completed. Coen is taken to Anachora directly after the first fight, where the second phase begins.

Difficulty: This is extremely hard even on Story difficulty. Coen is still using his starting equipment and the Grotesque Ascendant is balanced as an endgame boss capable of killing an underleveled Coen in a single hit. You also cannot save between the two Brencis fights, so failing the second phase means defeating the first form again. PowerPyx notes that this route is not part of the 100% completion checklist because it is effectively a hard-mode speedrun.

Easier ways to trigger the bonus outcomes (MP1st confirmation, 2026-09-04)

James Lara at MP1st confirmed two “shortcut” paths that make the bonus endings more accessible than the official guide implies. Both were verified by MP1st’s playthrough during launch week.

Leaving Vale Sangora is trivial on PC. MP1st specifically calls out that “while Brencis made sure to seal most of Vale Sangora off from allowing people in and out, he apparently missed a few locations around the map where players can simply walk out.” The article frames this as “you can beat the game (you’ll unlock the achievement) just by leaving Vale Sangora” — meaning the northwest corner near the broken bridge is not the only exit, and several edge-of-map points may let Coen cross without needing Corruption Level 11 or the second Shadow Dweller upgrade listed above. If you cannot find the broken-bridge path on your save, look for any visible canyon crossing and follow it until the warning prompt fires.

The prologue Brencis fight is winnable on PC. MP1st reports that while the “Bad Blood” prologue encounter is “basically unwinnable” at intended difficulty (Brencis is too high-level and Coen’s attacks barely register), PC players can manipulate the fight — for example, by modifying Coen’s stats, summoning another vampire, or using arena tricks — to actually defeat Brencis. Rebel Wolves accounted for this by giving Brencis a fully beatable second phase (the Grotesque Ascendant form described above) and by writing unique dialogue lines for the prologue-skip route. These extra lines reference Coen’s “untapped abilities” that you would otherwise only learn about through normal play — Brencis will comment on powers Coen has not yet discovered if you take this shortcut.

What this means for the trophy plan:

  • A Hero They Deserve is easier to reach than the KeenGamer route suggests, especially on PC. If the broken-bridge path feels locked, try any other edge-of-map canyon first.
  • The prologue Brencis skip is not recommended for a first run because it skips the entire 30-day clock and locks you out of every normal ending. Save it for a second playthrough once you have already collected the four main endings and the two secret endings through the intended routes.

Post-credits scene

Every ending leads to the same post-credits scene, which jumps forward to the present day and shows an injured vampire receiving a delivery of blood bags before feeding. The scene strongly suggests that vampires survive into the modern era and sets up the wider future of the Dawnwalker Saga. It plays after Together Forever, A Hero They Deserve, Time Runs Out, and the bonus prologue skip — not only the four main endings.

Choices that change the Laslea epilogue

Even after you commit to a specific ending, many side-quest decisions change the final Laslea epilogue. The largest variable is what you did for the four romanceable characters (Anca, Lacra, Crake, and Marat) and which Yanna-related side quests you completed. The Knyazmaker ending combined with a Crake romance and the full Manumit side-quest chain produces the most populated Laslea rebuild; the Folk Hero with no romanceable companion produces the most minimal one.

The full epilogue branching is still being mapped by the community as of this page’s last update. We will fill in the side-quest-to-epilogue matrix in a follow-up once we have enough verified player data.
