Bandai Namco and Rebel Wolves have not announced a Nintendo Switch version of The Blood of Dawnwalker. The platform list confirmed at launch — September 3, 2026 — covers PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Windows PC. That is the same list Rebel Wolves locked on April 28, 2026 with the release-date confirmation, and it has not been extended since.
This matters because the question keeps coming up. The Blood of Dawnwalker is a current-generation Unreal Engine 5 RPG with optional frame generation, three console presets, and PS5 Pro enhancements. Players who own only a Nintendo Switch have a legitimate reason to ask whether they will ever play it. The honest answer as of September 20, 2026 is: nothing has been announced, and the technical picture does not make a Switch 1 port plausible.

The launch-day post (Launch Day: September 3, 2026 Ship + Day-One 1.003.000 Patch Drops) is the primary source for the 1.003.000 patch details. The release-date confirmation (Release Date Confirmed: September 3, 2026) is the primary source for the original April platform list. The platform-and-editions guide (Release Date, Platforms, Editions, and Pre-Order Bonus) is the primary source for the full pre-order and edition breakdown.
Why A Switch Port Is Technically Difficult
The day-one 1.003.000 patch added features that are difficult on lower-spec hardware:
- NVIDIA DLSS Frame Generation for RTX 40- and 50-series cards. DLSS is a Blackwell/Ada feature; Switch 1 has no DLSS support and no equivalent NVIDIA hardware path.
- AMD FSR Frame Generation as the catch-all upscaler for everyone else. FSR is portable, but it still assumes a discrete GPU budget Switch 1 does not have.
- Three console presets — Performance (60fps), Balanced (40fps for VRR displays), Quality (30fps with full lighting and shadows). Each preset is a different performance target. Switch 1 cannot reliably hit any of them.
- VRR (Variable Refresh Rate) in Balanced mode. The Switch 1 OLED dock outputs a fixed 60Hz; Switch 1 handheld is fixed 60Hz. There is no VRR tier on Switch 1.
The Switch 2 changes this picture in principle. Switch 2 has a more capable GPU, supports DLSS-class upscaling through NVIDIA’s broader Switch 2 architecture, and would in principle handle the 40fps Balanced mode. None of that is confirmed by Rebel Wolves or Bandai Namco for The Blood of Dawnwalker. As of September 20, 2026, no port, no announcement, and no public technical statement has been made.
Community Speculation vs Official Statements
Player discussion since launch has produced several recurring theories:
- “Switch 2 is the obvious target.” Plausible on hardware grounds. Unconfirmed on announcement grounds. Until Bandai Namco or Rebel Wolves says so, this is speculation.
- “A cloud-streamed version is the workaround.” Mentioned on Reddit and ResetEra threads. No evidence Bandai Namco is pursuing a streaming version for the title. The cloud question is independent of the Switch question and not covered here.
- “It will come a year after launch.” Possible. The same pattern applied to several Unreal Engine 5 cross-gen titles on PS4 / Xbox One during 2023–2024. There is no internal evidence it applies to Dawnwalker.
The developer position has not changed publicly since April 28, 2026. Rebel Wolves numbered 160 people as of launch, and the studio has not announced additional platform work post-launch. Hotfixes 1.0.2 through 1.0.5 have all been performance and quest fixes, not port engineering.
What This Page Will Look Like If A Port Is Announced
When Bandai Namco confirms a Switch or Switch 2 port, this page gets rewritten as a launch-tracker:
- The table above gains a row for the new platform.
- The technical-difficulty section becomes a feature-trimming section, because ports usually cut or simplify features (frame generation, VRR, console presets).
- The “Community Speculation” section gets deleted, because the speculation has resolved into fact.
- A new related link points to the official Bandai Namco announcement.
Until any of that happens, this page is a status-of-the-question reference, not a guide.
Honest Gaps
- No primary source confirms or denies a Switch 2 version. The “Switch 2 is the obvious target” line is community consensus, not developer statement. Flag this entire section as unverified.
- No cloud-streaming announcement exists. Some Reddit threads mention cloud streaming as a workaround. This is speculation, not confirmed work. The cloud question is not the same as the Switch question and is not addressed here.
- No port timeline has been hinted at. The “year after launch” pattern is industry-wide; it is not a Dawnwalker-specific claim.
- Switch 2 hardware specs in the context of Unreal Engine 5 are unofficial. Switch 2 details are widely reported but not officially confirmed by Nintendo as of this writing. Treat any Switch 2 compatibility argument as conditional on unreleased hardware.
